Overview of POMS

POMS will: (1) reduce CG workload, (2) enable electronic data feeds of travel documents directly to
the Finance Center payment system, (3) provide a comprehensive management and patrol order
issuing system, (4) enable rapid travel claim processing, and (5) significantly reduce errors on
claims.
Users will connect to Statronics and the Metaframe Server at the Finance Center via the CGWSIII
or the Internet. Local administrators, designated by the Finance Center, control user Logon
Authentication at the Group level. User names and passwords will be assigned and emailed to
users.
The Metaframe server will enable a thin-client solution eliminating all client workstation
requirements with the exception of a web browser. Users will access the Statronics POMS system
through the Windows Terminal Server built into the Windows 2003 Operating system as enabled
by the Citrix Metaframe. Software updates will be taking place only on the server, eliminating the
need for time-consuming software management at the local level.
In addition, this system will manage the entire patrol order process, from requests for orders to
claims for reimbursement while performing validations of data entered to ensure the reliability of the
entered information. Anticipated labor savings at the Group Level and rapid processing of claims
with less than 1% error rates will significantly improve the management of Auxiliary patrol orders.
